Some Big, BIG, News...

As the owner and maker behind the highly successful bridal boutique Constance Handcrafted, I've been seriously considering making a move from Etsy to my own website for quite some time.

But first, some history....

I started my business on Etsy back in 2012, shortly after the birth of my first child. I've always loved sewing, crafting and making so Etsy was a natural fit for me, and I wanted to see if I could make my business (along with my baby) grow. And grow it did!

My first offering was my Constance Handcrafted handmade kiss-lock clutch bags. After a few initial forays into evening bags, I hit on the world of bridal. I got to satiate my obsession with luxury fabrics by working with the finest silks and laces, crafting them into stunning pieces for my customers, that would be treasured on their big day and beyond. By the end of the year I was shipping bridal bags across the world, my first order being to NYC (I was so excited I would have sent it for free!)... sshhh, don't tell!

As my sales went from the hundreds to the thousands, I started to introduce new product lines - first bridal belts, then head pieces and jewellery and finally bridal shawls and cover ups... basically everything but the dress. My family grew, my business grew and life was good. But I wanted more, I needed more, and the idea for my own website independent of Etsy was born and here we are.

This blog will chart the next stage of my Constance Handcrafted journey (and oh my, will it still feature sequins, lace, silk and jewels galore)...so to infinity and beyond!
